This week I am sharing a delicious finger food that is perfect for choti si bhukh in the evening or even as a party starter. It is so tempting that it was gobbled in a jiffy. Rava Bites / Semolina bites can be prepared within 25 minutes.It is very easy and quick recipe .My boys just loved it.
What is Rava or Semolina?
Semolina is the coarse, purified wheat middlings of durum wheat mainly used in making upma, pasta,and couscous. This is populary used in many parts of the world to bake and cook savoury and sweet delicacies.There are many varieties of delicious dishes can be made from this humble semolina.

Recipe for Rava Bites / Semolina Bites:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Roasted Rava / Semolina
Salt to taste
1 Onion Finely Chopped
1/2 Tsp Jeera / Cumin
1 Cup Thick Yogurt
3/4 Cup Bread Crumbs
1/2 Tsp Paprika
3/4 Tsp Curry Powder
A sprig of curry leaves
1 Cup Water
Oil for Shallow frying
Few Cashews for stuffing
1/4 Tsp Hing
Method:
Take a wide bottom bowl. Mix roasted rava , yogurt and water.Mix well and aloow it to rest for 10 minutes.
In the meantime finely chop the onions and green chilli.
To the yogurt mix add finely chopped onions, green chilli breadcrumbs, salt, paprika,jeera, hing,chopped curry leaves ,hing and curry powder.
Mix and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
Shape the mixture as desired and Stuff a cashew on each one.
Heat a wide pan. Add some oil. Place the rava bites and shallow fry untill both the sides are nicely cooked.
Serve with any chilli sauce or chutney of your choice.

This is a healthy and perfect snack / breakfast idea. I often make with leftover upma.
I too make in same way as fry them. Like you idea of shaping them like cutlet and shallow frying them. Looks so delicious.
