Today I am dedicating this post to my hero and that’s my DAD . He turns 75 today. I am a bit emotional too as we celebrate his birthday virtually. It is tough for all of us but I want to see the positive side of it. I am blessed to be his daughter. He is a very humble and a very affectionate person. I have acquired most of his traits which I am proud of. My Mom will surely vouch for this statement.I can go on and on writing about him.In these tough times do keep us in your prayers and wish my parents a very Happy and Healthy Life. We are Celebrating his birthday with this delicious Eggless chocolate cake (Vegan).

My DAD my HERO………………………

My dad is my pillar of strength. Every daughter’s first hero is their dad and so is mine.We think alike. I have seen him always smiling and happy no matter what. I was scared of him only when he taught me Mathematics. Not sure if I was scared of him or the subject in my primary school.The memories are just flashing in front of my eyes today. He is leading a very simple and principled life .He has imparted the same values to me and my brother. We love you DAD.

Ingredients for Eggless Chocolate Cake (Vegan):

  • Unbleached All Purpose Flour: I have used unbleached All purpose flour. You can use wheat flour instead.
  • Cocoa Powder: Use good quality cocoa powder to get good results.
  • Baking Soda:We have used only one leavening agent here. You cannot substitute baking powder with baking soda in this recipe. Use Eno if you do not have baking soda.
  • Salt: It balances the sweetness and enhances the flavor of the cake
  • Water: I have used cold water here.
  • Sugar: I have used cane sugar. You can use any sweetners of your choice.
  • Neutral Oil: I have used Sunflower Oil.You can use any neutral oil.
  • Vanilla Essence: I like to add vanilla essence in my bakes.
  • White Vinegar: I have used white vinegar. You can use lemon juice in case you do not have vinegar.

Recipe for Eggless Chocolate Cake (Vegan)

Ingredients for Eggless Chocolate Cake (Vegan)

  • 2 Cups Unbleached All Purpose Flour
  • 6 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 Pinches of Salt
  • 2 Cups Cold Water
  • 1.5 Cups Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Sunflower Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 2 Tbsp White Vinegar

For Decoration:

  • 1 Tsp Cocoa Powder for Decoration
  • Few Chocolate Pieces


  • Pre Heat the Oven at 200 C for about 10 mins.
  • Grease a baking pan and keep it ready.
  • In a bowl sift the flour , salt, baking soda and cocoa powder. Keep it aside.
  • In another bowl add cold water and sugar. Whisk untill the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Add neutral oil to this mixture and whisk again untill you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • Now add vanilla essence and white vinegar and whisk again.
  • Slowly fold in the dry flour mixture and mix using cut and fold method.
  • Do not over mix.
  • Transfer this mixture to the greased baking pan.
  • Tap the sides of the pan so that extra air bubbles are let out.
  • Bake for 35 minutes or untill the toothpick comes out clean.
  • Decorate by sprinkling some cocoa powder and chocolates or be as creative as you can.
