Today I am sharing a delicious and lip smacking home made butter that can be used as spread and in smoothies.It is preservative free and it is made with just 2 ingredients.Absolutely better than the store bought ones. Almond & Mini Choco Chip Butter is so creamy and delicious that can be in just 20 minutes. No cooking just roast and blend.I am going to experiment now with many more combinations of butter.
What is Nut Butter?
Nut Butter is a spread made with Nuts. It is made by grinding the nuts into a fine paste. There are many type of nut butter Acorn butter , Almond Butter , Hazelnut Butter ,Macademia Butter, Peanut Butter ,Walnut Butter , Pecan Butter ,Pistachio butter to name a few. You can also combine it with seeds to make seed and nut butter . Everything when eaten in moderation is good.Homemade butters are the best as you have an idea as to what goes into it. This is not for people who are allergic to nuts and seeds.
Recipe for Almond & Mini Choco Chip Butter:
1 Cup Almonds(I have used a 200 ml cup)
2 Tsp Mini Choco Chips (Semisweet)
Roast the Almonds in a Oven at 180C for 15 Minutes
Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes
Take a blender
Add the roasted almonds and semi sweet mini choco chips
Blend untill you get a nice creamy paste.
Do not add water or oil
Tranfer the creamy butter to a clean jar .
I have kept it in the refreigerator as my boys like to eat cold butter as the weather is very hot.
