I made the Sri Lankan curry powder at home and it is such a wonderful spice mixture. Without being overtly spicy, when added to any dish it lends a subtle flavour of each spice used. Love this curry powder.

I made a small batch of this curry powder too and it was interesting that it uses raw rice just the way amma uses raw rice to make sambhar pwdr at home (to give the end product – sambhar a little thickness). I love the presenation here, preethi, in that cute jar !

Ahh! what a flavourful spice mix! Simply delicious and the use of uncooked rice is so unusual. Will make some tomorrow as I need a spice mix and this one is simply calling out to me.

This is a fragrant and flavorful spice blend. Great choice for the theme. I loved using the curry powder in the curry I tried, and it was quite delicious.

  7. I am sure making any masala powders at home is always more flavourful than store-bought ones. I have some must-try dishes from this theme and some call for curry powder. Now I have a recipe in hand, I need not hunt for them in stores.
