What is Satvik Food?
Satvik diet is based on Ayurveda and yogic literature.foods that decrease the energy of the body are considered tamasic, while those that increase the energy of the body are considered rajasic. It includes include foods and eating habits that are pure, essential, natural, vital and energy-containing, clean, conscious and honest. Yogis always followed Ahimsa or non violence and only had vegetarian diet.Pungent vegetables like hot peppers, leek, garlic and onion are excluded, as are gas-forming foods such as mushrooms. Classification of foods as satvik or non satvik depends on the schools of thought.What is the 92nd HWCG Theme?

Recipe Bhindi Kadhi (Satvik):
Ingredients:
- 20 Bhindi / Okra washed and wiped dry
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 1 Cup Yogurt (250 ML Cup)
- 1/2 Tsp Haldi / Turmeric
- 1/2 Tsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder
- 1 Tbsp Garam Masala
- Salt toTaste
- 2 Tbsp Gram Flour / Besan
- 1/4 Tsp Dry Mango Powder / Amchur Powder
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Tsp Jeera / Cumin
- 2 Dry Red Chillis Torn
- 1/2 Tsp Ajwain
- 1/4 Tsp Rai / Mustard
- 1 Tbsp Ghee

Method:
- Take a wide bottom bowl. Add yogurt , red chilli powder , garam masala and turmeric and water . Make a lump free mixture.
- Chop the Bhindi and keep them aside.
- Heat a wide bottom pan. Add Ghee. Then add mustard, ajwain ,dry red chilli and mix well. Remove some tadka aside for garnish later.
- Once the mustard crackles add the besan mixture with the spices. Allow it to simmer and stir continuously untill you get a smooth mixture.
- Heat another wok. Add oil. Stir fry the chopped bhindi untill it becomes lightly crisp. Add salt and amchur powder.
- Add the roasted bhindi to the kadhi. Let it simmer for 5-7 mins. Turn off the heat.
- Garnish with the tadka .
- Serve hot with Phulkas or hot rice and pickle.

My all time favorite kadhi! Love bhindi kadhi so much that I prepare it at least once every ten days. Your preparation is a little different but looks so tempting.
