SPICED GUAVA / MASALA AMROOD

Today I am back with a very quick and easy delicious snack with fresh Guava or Amrood as you call in Hindi. Masala Guava / Masala Amrood can be whipped in just 5 minutes. I have used fresh Thai variety here. It has very few tender seeds. It is very delicious. Serve this as a snack when your kids don’t like to eat fruits or satisfy small hunger pangs. It is very addictive. Guava used here is semi ripe .You can any semi ripe variety with less seeds. Remove the seeds if too much.

Equipment

  • 1 Chopping Board
  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Knife

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Nos Medium size Guava (Thai Variety)
  • 1/2 Tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1/2 Tsp Green chilli powder (Mildly spicy)
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Coriander finely chopped
  • 1/4 Tsp Roasted Jeera Powder / Cumin seeds Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Kala Namak / Black Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder

Instructions
 

  • Wash and dry the guava . Chop them into bite sized chunks.
  • Add all the other ingredients mentioned above and give it a good mix.
  • Serve and Enjoy!!!

Notes

  1. Green Chilli (Midly Spicy variety ) is sun dried and powdered.
  2. You Can substitute green chilli instead of green chilli powder in case you don’t have.
  3. You can add green chilli and fresh coriander paste too.
  4. Add spice as per your tolerance.
  5. The measurements given here are perfect for my family.

    I am salivating by just reading the recipe and enjoying the pics . Guava with chilli powder and Kala namak brings back such lovely memories of childhood..amma and me we used to love the huge guavas from Nasik which were the best of guavas that I have had .. oH I miss them now !!

    That’s a beautiful way to enjoy guava. We usually have guava with salt and red chilli powder, but I love how you have spiced it up even more. Will try this out shortly.
