Preethi quite often when I soak whole urad to make dal makhani, they tend to sprout. However, have never thought of using them for a salad or a stir fry. What a unique and healthy recipe. Next time will soak more urad so I can try out this Karnataka style salad.

I will most certainly look at black urad dal beyond idli / dosa / chutney pudi now, PReethi — that’s a fab salad with sprouted urad dal – does it take the same time to sprout as mung or slow like black channa ?
