The festival begins with the installation of Ganesh clay idols privately in homes and in Public Pandals.
The festival will end on the tenth day after start, when the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, and is then immersed in a nearby water body.

While I have heard of Panchakajjaya laddoos, I have never actually had a chance to try them out. They sound delicious, with a combination of chana dal and moong dal. The jaggery, coconut and cardamom must have taken the flavour quotient up by several notches!
