Ingredients for Fried Plantain (Tunisian Style):
- Ripe Plantain–We need ripe but firm plantains. I have used the local Pisang Raja variety.
- Dried Red Chillies–Gives some spice kick to the fried fritters
- Salt– Use as per taste.Main Ingredient of this dish.
- Oil–Use any non flavored oil for frying.
- Zaatar spice–Gives a nice flavor and taste to the dish.

Ingredients for Fried Plantain (Tunisian Style):
- 2 Ripe but firm Plantains(Pisang Raja Variety)
- Salt to taste
- 2 Dry Red Chillies
- 1 Tbsp Zaatar Spice
- Oil for Frying
Method:
- Peel and Slice the ripe plantain into thick slices
- Dry roast the red chillies and grind them to fine powder
- Heat oil in a wide Pan.
- Once the oil is hot deep fry the plantain slices on medium heat until golden brown on all sides.
- Ensure not to burn
- Remove the fried plantain slices on a paper tower and let the excess oil drain.
- In a bowl mix salt ,zaatar spice and chilli powder and toss the fried plantains in this mixture.
- Serve and Enjoy…………

Fried Plantain is quite new to me, this looks a delectable snack. Addition of zataar spice must have given a wonderful taste to it.
