Whisk the thick yogurt lump free in a bowl. Add salt ,mix well and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan . Add mustard seeds and Cumin seeds. Once they splutter add Hing, garlic and dry red chili.
Saute until the garlic turns crispy brown . Turn off the heat.
Add turmeric powder , red chili powder , cumin powder and coriander powder. Mix well.
Once the tempering cools down add half of the tempering to the whisked yogurt and mix well.
Garnish the remaining tempering on the top and add the finely chopped fresh coriander.
Serve with any flat bread or rice and enjoy .
Notes
Use thick yogurt for best results. You can use home made or Greek yogurt.
Ensure the yogurt is not sour.
Replace garlic with ginger if you do not eat garlic.
You can uses onions too.
Skip Asafoetida / Hing to make it Gluten free.
Ensure not to burn the garlic and spices as it with ruin the taste and flavors.
