Wish you all a very Happy Rakshabandhan!!! A festival to celebrate the brother sister bond. We used to look forward to this festival during our childhood as we used a lot of delcious food prepared by mom. These days we are all celebrating it virtually as we are living very far from each other.I prepared this delicious Maharastrian snack Kothimbir Vadi along with some delicious sweets to celebrate this auspicious day.

What is Rakshabandhan?

Rakshabandhan is a popular hindu festival to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. In the Indian mythology, a full moon day is considered to be an auspicious day. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi falls on a full moon day in the month of Shravana (August) according to the Hindu Calander. This festival brings the entire family together and strengths their bond. Brother promise to protect their sister for a lifetime. Brother gives gifts to the sister for tying Rakhi and blesses her.
