KLUAY KAEK / THAI BANANA FRITTERS

Today I am sharing a lip smacking street food from Thailand. We all love street food. Authentic Thai eating experience is all about the street food – Food straight out of roadside pushcarts or hidden among the maze of Bangkok night bazaars. Thai style Kluay Kaek / Thai Banana Fritters is an ultimate street food. The dish is also known as goreng pisang in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and surrounding countries. But the recipe is slightly different. We enjoyed this during our last trip to Thailand.

What is street Foods?

Street food consists of ready-to-eat foods or drinks sold by a hawker, or vendor, in a street or other designated public place. Most street foods are classified as both finger food and fast food, and are typically cheaper than restaurant food.Every country / region has its own special street food. Vast majority of middle-income consumers rely on the quick access and cheap service of street food.

Ingredients for Kluay Kaek / Thai Banana Fritters:

  • Rice Flour :Use normal white rice flour for the batter.
  • Unbleached Plain Flour: This is unbleached plain flour. You can use normal Maida instead.
