Today being a weekend, Kids wanted to have something different and something yummy.
Hmm ,so started thinking and decided to make Pepper Rasam Vada with a twist.As usual I like to experiment😊.

So here you go .

Recipe for vada

2 cups Urad dal soaked for 5 to 6 hours
1″finely chopped ginger
2 green chillies finely chopped
Handfull of corriander finely chopped
A few curry leaves finely chopped
1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
Salt to taste
1 Tbsp Rice Flour
A fist full of freshly grated cocunut(optional)
Oil for frying.
Grind the soaked Urad dal to make a fine paste without adding much water.To this mixture add all the above mentioned ingredients and mix well.Heat some oil in a wok for deep frying.
Now wet your hands ,take a ball of the mixture ,make a hole using your thumb and slowly drop it in the hot oil and deep fry.

Keep the vadas aside.

Recipe for Pepper Rasam:
50 gms Moong dal boiled
1Tsp Pepper Corns
1 Tsp Jeera/Cumin seeds
1Tsp Freshly grated coconut
A few curry leaves
1/4 tsp Hing
3 tsp ghee
2 Tomatoes medium size finely chopped
1 Tsp Rasam Powder

In a pan roast Pepper corns,Jeera,curry leaves, coconut and hing in 2 Tsp of ghee.
Grind all the roasted ingredients .You can grind it coarsely.

In the same pan add a tsp of ghee.Add tomatoes.Once they turn mushy add the boiled dal and the ground masala.Add rasam powder and 1/2 glass water and let it boil for 5 mins.Add salt to taste.

Soak Vadas in the Piping hot rasam and serve.
