It is a festival Season in India and celebrated by the Indian Community world wide. We celebrated Lakshmi Pooja ,Rakhi ,Janmastami and now Ganesh Pooja for the next 9 days. So many home made goodies and fruits to gorge on. We get an opportunity to dress up with traditional wear. I just love this time of the year. This year working from home has given me an opportunity to celebrate with more fervor without office work being affected. We celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi as whole family was home .I made Fruit And Nut custard as I had a lot of fruits.

What are the benefits of having Milk?

Milk is a staple in many households. Most popular ones are Cow’s Milk and Buffalo’s Milk. These days there are many who are Vegan and have Nuts based milk . It is loaded with nutrients. It is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals.It is Good for Bone health too as it is rich source in Calcium too. Milk is uses to make Coffee , Tea, Smoothies , Milkshakes , Kheer , burfi , halwa , rasgulla , Paneer just to name a few. Some people who are allergic to milk should avoid it.

Recipe for Fruit And Nut Custard:

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups Whole Milk (Full fat Milk)
  • 3 Tbsp Custard Powder (Vanilla Flavor)
  • 10 Tsp Sugar (Adjust sweetness as per your requirement)
  • 1 Dragon Fruit Cubed
  • 2 Chickoos sliced
  • 3 Small Bananas chopped
  • 5 Cashews roughly Chopped
  • 10 Raisins halved
  • 5 Alomonds Finely roughly chopped
FRUIT AND NUT CUSTARD

Method:

  • Boil Milk in a heavy bottom pan.
  • Take 3 Tbsp Milk and add the custard powder and mix well.
  • Ensure there are no lumps.
  • Add sugar and custard mixture in intervals to the boiling milk .
  • Mix well after each addition .
  • Aloow it to simmer for 3-4 mins untill the mixture thickens. Switch off the flame.
  • Allow it to cool and then refrigerate for about 2 hours.
  • Refrigerate the chopped fruits and nuts as well.
  • Add the chopped fruits and nuts to the custard mixture just before serving and then serve the chilled dessert.
  • Enjoy the delicious bowl of Custard.
