This week I am back with a delicious and nutritious Dragon fruit Smoothie bowl. I have added many more ingredients that enhances this smoothie to another level.There is no refined sugar in this smoothie. A perfect breakfast option or even as a snack to satisfy your hunger pangs. It just takes 5 mins to put it together.

What is a Smoothie ?

A Smoothie is a drink made using fruits and veggies along with water or milk or yogurt or even cream. It can also be made with plant based milk. You can drink it as smoothie or serve it in a bowl with fruit and nut toppings. This is so versatile that you can creatively use ingredients to decorate your smoothie bowl. Absolutely nutritious and filling.

What is Dragon Fruit?

Dragon fruit is a food that grows on a climbing cactus We get white and pink dragon fruits.On the outside, it’s a pink oval with green scales . Inside, it has white flesh or pink flesh with tiny black seeds.They are nutritious and delicious to eat too.Always note that anything eaten in moderation is ok for our health.

Recipe for Dragon Fruit Smoothie bowl:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pink dragon fruit peeled and cut into cubes
  • 3 Small bananas (or 1 big banana)
  • 3 Dates (pitted )
  • 1 tsp Maple Syrup ( Optional)
  • 1.5 Tsp Chia Seeds
  • 5 Almonds Roughly chopped
  • 160 ML Full fat milk

Method:

  • Peel the dragon fruit and cut them into cubes.
  • Peel the banana and chop them into small pieces.
  • Remove the seeds of the dates. Chop them into desired shape and size. Use two dated for the smoothie and one for garnish.
  • Chop the almonds for garnish and keep them aside.
  • In a blender add the chopped dragon fruit, banana ,maple syrup , dated and milk.
  • Blend it to a fine puree.
  • Transfer the contents to a bowl.
  • Garnish with chopped dates , chia seeds , dragon fruit cubes and chopped almonds.
  • Serve and enjoy

  1. Wow! what a beautiful vibrant bowl of fruit. I will definitely want someof this delicious bowl. We usually eat the dragon fruit just by itself. This seems to be a better option.
