Dragon Fruit Jujubes (Vegetarian)

Jujubes are chewy candies that can be easily made at home without using any artificial colours. You can use natural fruit puree and I am sure you wouldn’t mind if you kiddo pops them regularly. The Sugar levels can be adjusted as per our taste.

Recipe for Dragon Fruit Jujubes:

Ingredients:
1 cup Sugar
2 tsp Agar agar
Half dragon fruit (pink one inside)
Juice of 1/4 Lemon

Method:

Soak 2 Tsp Agar Agar powder in 1 cup of hot water for 10 mins.

Boil 1/2 cup of water. Add sugar and keep stirring till the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar has fully dissolved add the agar agar soaked water and keep stirring for 15 mins. Let it boil. You will see the liquid becomes slightly thick and sticky.Switch off the stove. Add the lemon juice and dragon fruit puree. Mix well and pour it in a container and let it set in the fridge overnight. In the morning cut it into desired shapes and size and roll them in icing sugar .Keep it in a air tight container.

PS: Dragon fruit was sweet hence added sugar accordingly. You can increase or decrease as per your taste. You can try with other fruits too.
